Meet the Artist: Plamen Penev
Plamen Penev is an award-winning New Jersey-based artist who brings landscapes, nature, and light to life through oil and pastel paintings. Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, Plamen was drawn to art at an early age, inspired by his older brother’s sketches. Although he pursued a career in medical research, his passion for painting never faded. Now, he dedicates his time to capturing the beauty of the world around him, using dramatic light, soulful subjects, and travel experiences as his inspiration.
What to Expect:
During this exclusive presentation, Plamen will share insights into his creative process, including: 🎨 Painting en plein air (outdoors) and finishing the piece in the studio
📷 Using on-site photos, sketches, and field notes to enhance his work
🌄 The importance of light and subject selection in his paintings
