Mark your calendar for February 22, 2025, as the Burlington County Art Guild and Willingboro Art Alliance invite you to the Joan Becker Watercolor Demonstration. This free event will be held in person and on Zoom at the Burlington County Library, 5 Pioneer Blvd, Westampton, NJ 08060, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Joan Becker is a Philadelphia-based artist who studied at Moore College of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Primarily working with watercolor and gouache, her imaginative works feature dynamic scenes of people and wildlife set against bold, color-filled backgrounds, capturing both energy and emotion in every brushstroke.
In January 2025, Becker’s art will be showcased in a solo show at Gross McCleaf Gallery in Manayunk, PA. During this demonstration, she will discuss her background, inspirations, and creative process. You’ll also see a live demo of her watercolor techniques, revealing the transformative steps behind each vibrant and expressive painting.
Attendees of the Joan Becker Watercolor Demonstration will learn how an initial idea evolves through sketches, color testing, and material application. Becker believes a painting gains a life of its own when the final brushstrokes diverge from its original concept, allowing spontaneity to shape the finished piece in surprising ways.
This event is perfect for everyone, from art enthusiasts to seasoned painters, offering unique insights into combining technique with imagination. Explore how Becker’s approach can help you experiment with new perspectives or refine your existing skills. Gain firsthand knowledge from her decades of experience in creating striking, story-infused visuals.
Don’t miss this opportunity to join an inspiring creative community. The session runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both in person and via Zoom. Admission is free, making it an accessible way to deepen your artistic practice.
