Michael Kane will talk about his wood working design business Stem Wood Design, his art
practice, and work as co-founder of The Dime Gallery in Burlington.
Micheal is a multi-faceted artist creating one-of-a-kind furniture, objects, and jewelry from
sustainable wood. His original designs are sleek and modern often combining wood with glass and
aluminum. In addition, he creates whimsical sculptures using found objects, repurposed wire and
wood. Michael is co-founder of The Dime Gallery in Burlington and organizes their juried shows.
His artist statement reads:
As an artist, I want to do it all. Every medium, every dimension. Each vocation, a specific purpose.
One to eat, one to dream, one to document, one to explore, another to challenge, finally, one to
build. My list is long, but there is still time.
